Congratulations to Seaforth sophomore, Evelyn Atkins, who secured the first tennis match win in school history for the Hawks. Playing out of the #1 singles spot, Atkins dropped the first set to her Northwood opponent 3-6. She battled back in the second set taking it 6-2. In the deciding 10-point tiebreaker, Atkins got out to a big lead and never looked back, ultimately closing out the match winning 10-4 in the tiebreaker. Atkins, one of three Co-Captains for the Hawks tennis team, and the rest of the Hawks team will be back in action against Southern Wake on August 26.
